Why is spaying/neutering important?

Spaying and neutering cats and dogs prevents overpopulation. Overpopulation will lead to an increase in the number of
homeless pets, overcrowded animal shelters, spread of disease, worsened animal welfare, and overcrowded animal shelters. It can also make a significant negative impact on local wildlife populations.
